Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in sEarch of thE bEautiful gamE... All though the world cup is over, yet the search of the beautiful game still continues. 2006 world cup gives us wonderful memories; drama, tragedy, comedy and suspend. Most of us would remember this world cup for many of these incidents, but nothing beets the final match between the Azzurri and Les Bleus which has everything we hoped for in a world cup final match, for the neutrals that is. Heart ache for the French whom thought that their French flair would win them the world cup after winning it in 1998, yet the Azzurri manages to show their defensive quality which they are renowned for. The game would not be complete without mentioning the head of god incident, when Zizou head-butted Marco Marterazzi to the ground. Version of stories we told post-mortem, Marco said that Zizou was arrogant; Zizou said that Marco insulted his family, it’s all about he said she said sort of situation (go figure who she is… hahahaha). The end of the world cup means only one thing, who’s going where and who’s coming over. Every major tournament ends with the gossip of which player who impress most from the tournament to move from one club to another. This time around the transfer saga would be more interesting with the allegation surrounding four major clubs in Italian Serie A; AC Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio and the Old Lady. Major clearance is expected at these clubs, where all of the players are discontented not able to compete in the European competition. But one player worth mentioning is Alex Del Piero who insist that he will not leave the old lady in the time of need, now that’s something that we are lacking of in professional sport, as I recalled when Fiorentina was relegated several years ago Angelo DiLivio did the same thing, but public argued that he was at the twilight of his career back then. I’m not wrong for saying that most of the football fans out there would be biting their nails and waiting day in and day out to know who would be signing in for their supported teams. It’s always been the time of the year where millions of money is flash out to get the sort of player needed to compete in the upcoming 2006-2007 season. Who’ll get the best bargain, who’ll get the worst and who’ll break the bank? For Real Madrid it “seems that they finally found what they are looking for, but only time will tell if the new regime would put Real Madrid back where they belong. With so much to look forward this season, no matter which league (Italian, Spanish, English), no matter what division your team is playing. One thing for sure, its that all of us would want to find the beautiful game. posted by imaginEErEr at 2:49 am |
